The Orbell and Romer families were united through Grace Edith Orbell (1862-1961)

and Rowland Henry Paul Romer (1858 - 1945)

In the 19th century the Orbell surname seems to have been concentrated in and around East Anglia. In Essex they were significant land-owning farmers.
